Borrowing the imaginative resonance of a geological term, the project unfolds through field observation, material experimentation, and ritual space. From multisensory narratives developed through moving image, sound, and installation, to material ecologies woven from ceramics, metal, and minerals, it extends an invitation to wander and dwell together with other forms of life. Over the past five years, I have moved across the Eurasian plate, tracing the rising and subsiding of rock strata, as well as the gazes, listening, touches, and depictions among forms of life. Birds lead me to learn the language of water and to grow familiar with the words of mountains. Thus, guided by journeys and encounters that follow evolutionary facts, as well as by dreams and reveries arising within the flow of the spirit, the stirrings and resonances produced by these precious meetings and conjunctures gradually condensed into the original impulse from which the project was born.
Living alongside species that survived the fifth mass extinction, can we respond in ways beyond critique or sorrow when confronted with the potential continuation of catastrophe and extinction? Could we imagine a new perspective—one that would allow us to set aside the notion that the world ought inevitably to be like this? Once we ourselves have become part of the geological strata, what traces will we leave behind? When future beings peer back into the past, will they be able to discern the tender entanglements that once existed between species?

The footage was filmed between 2022 and 2026 across the Eurasian continent and the North Atlantic region: from Mount Wutai in China, the Cretaceous limestone plateau in the Netherlands, Untersberg in Austria, and the Swiss Alps, to Iceland’s volcanic landscapes and Norway’s Scandinavian Mountains; from the North Sea and the North Atlantic to the Norwegian Sea. It includes records of the artist’s improvised performances in different environments, field-based image collection, and microscopic documentation of crystal cultivation. The soundtrack is derived from the artist’s improvised singing and musical arrangement. The wearable sculptures are composed of naturally occurring minerals gathered and processed during her journeys, hand-polished and shaped metals, paper-based elements, and mineral pigments. The performance was first presented publicly in Salzburg, Austria, and was further developed during a residency in Iceland.
Life is so delicate, and yet it is indeed enduring. Within cycles of recurrence, the elements that once belonged to it scatter; those elements will be inherited—by rock strata, air, oceans, deserts… between myself and birds, between bodies and minerals, between clouds and mountains, between constellations and the Earth’s core.
《All Those Convergences That Rise and Settle|

I wish to become, together with those flocks that have witnessed the birth of mountains, a part of the bridge of memory. Among the mountains built up by time, I chant the songs of life as it gathers through these crystals and continues to unfold.
