Iceylithe Bintong Wang

Iceylithe Bintong Wang perceives and creates with a childlike sincerity and openness. Her research unfolds across three scales — the cosmic, the biological and the elemental — exploring the interrelationships among geological remnants, deep time, evolutionary transformations and the flows of consciousness. Her practice encompasses spatial design, sound performance, sculptural furniture, installation photography, experimental film, cartographic drawing and painting, and nonfiction writing.

Moving between mountains and glaciers, Iceylithe follows the faintly emerging “Mother Tongue of the Earth” among the traces of birds and animals, plants and minerals — an ancient form of utterance that transcends the dictionaries of human language, permeating all things on the planet as they respond to one another across deep time. By regarding design as a medium for contemplating living relations across the blurred boundaries of time, place and language, the artist seeks to understand the elusive yet enchanting memories and stories written in the Mother Tongue of the Earth, bridging ancient environments and possible futures.

In embodied, serendipitous yet deeply resonant encounters with the miracles and wisdom of the Earth and the cosmos, she is profoundly moved by the reality that minerals can grow within bones. In her recent spatial installations and performance films, crystals cultivated on a microscopic scale appear alongside geological and hydrological investigations documented through expeditions into polar regions and high altitudes. Sculptures and installations composed of fossils and minerals intertwine with dance and song performed before glaciers and mountains.

Emphasizing the novel images born of consciousness through creative imagination, Iceylithe explores how vitality manifests, persists and transforms within matter. Through the flows, balances and symbiotic relations within natural elements and material structures such as clay, minerals and metals, the artist asks: When we eventually become part of the geological strata of the Anthropocene, what traces will we leave behind? When future forms of life look back into the past, will they still be able to perceive the tender entanglements that once existed among species?

Between philosophy and nature, science and spirituality, dreams and reverie, Iceylithe’s work extends into reflections on geological environments, biological transformations and ecological empathy. May we come to sense the freedom of being within this vastness, and the quiet ease of existing as part of it. She wishes to gesture lightly toward that profound depth, just as fleeting lives give form to eternity.

王彬潼（Iceylithe Bintong Wang）以孩子般的初心感知和创作，她从宇宙、生物与物质元素三重尺度展开研究，探索地质遗存与深层时间、演化变迁与意识流动之间的关系。她的实践涵盖空间设计、声音表演、雕塑家具、装置摄影、实验电影、制图绘画与非虚构写作。

游走于山脉与冰川之间，彬潼追随鸟兽、植物、矿石等痕迹间浮现的“地球母语”——这一超越人类词典，渗透于星球万物于深层时间中彼此回应的古老言说。通过将设计视为思索朦胧时间、地域和语言边界的生命关系媒介，艺术家试图理解连接远古环境和可能未来的——由地球母语书写的模糊而迷人的记忆与故事。

在具身地和宇宙的奇迹与智慧不经意却心领神会的相遇中，深受触动于骨骼亦生长出矿藏的现实，在近期的装置空间和行为电影作品中，微观尺度下培育的晶体与她对极地和高海拔地区进行探险所记录的地质和水体考察并置，化石和矿物构成的雕塑与装置和冰川与山脉前进行的舞蹈与歌唱交织。

通过强调意识在创造性想象中诞生出的崭新形象，彬潼探寻着生命性在物质中的显化、延续与转变。借助陶土、矿物、金属等自然元素和物质构架之中的流动、平衡与共生，艺术家追问着：当归于名为人类世的地质层后，我们将留下怎样的痕迹？当后世的生命窥探往昔时，能否看到曾经的物种间存有着温柔的缠绵？

在哲学与自然、科学与灵性、梦境与遐想之间，彬潼的作品延伸出对地质环境、生物变迁与生态共情的思索。愿我们得以体察身处这浩瀚宇宙的自由，以及作为这广袤之一的安在。她愿轻盈地指向那处深邃，正如短暂的生命构筑了永恒。
